Brenda Shatto

I found a passion for contemporary line dance in 2005 and soon began choreographing and teaching at Coaches Corner Fitness Center in northern California, USA. I am known globally for my award winning dance I’m Mad (I’m Mad line dance competition), which won first place in a choreography competition in Las Vegas. After 3 first place wins and a second place for my choreography in 3 years, I became an instructor at the largest line dance event in the world; I was on staff at the Las Vegas Dance Explosion for 6 years. I’ve also been fortunate to travel the US and to England to teach and dance.

In 2011, in an effort to grow and learn, I added West Coast Swing lessons, competitions and performances to my list of hobbies. I have learned from some of the world’s best teachers, Kelly Casanova, Janelle Guido, and Yenni Setiawan. I love to social dance, compete, and learn & perform routines at club dances and weekend events. In 2015, Dave Cooper and I entered a Masters routine at the US Open Swing Dance Championships and placed 8th. I currently teach WCS for local clubs and give private lessons.

In 2016, I was happy to use my dance skills to support the Veterans Resource Centers of America through the Dancing with the Stars and Stripes competition This video shows me with a veteran who had never danced before. He did great!

In 2020 during the Covid pandemic, I began teaching all my line dance classes on Facebook Live and Zoom. I attracted dancers from across the globe to my lessons. Most of the lessons continue to be saved and enjoyed in my facebook group. Line Dance with Joan, Brenda and Barbara.

I am happy to be teaching in person once again. I would love to teach you line dances or help you improve your WCS!
